Introduction

The Rusk (Relentless Uncovering of Scientific Knowledge) Framework is a living document containing (at this moment) 4 key principles that should be updated based on new emerging science in the realms of nutrition, longevity, optimization, motivation, and happiness. The framework does not prescribe any one diet or exercise routine, it is agnostic of both. The intent is to never need to count a single calorie or macro again. The principles are not rules that are never meant to be broken but merely guidelines to live by.

Anyone attempting to live by the principles must have a basic understanding of the science behind why these principles exist and be committed to continuously learning any new emerging science behind them as well with self-experimentation.


Hypothesis:

I believe that by following the following principles of the RUSK Framework, I will live an overall happier, healthier, and more fulfilled life.

Leading Indicators: I will continually test this hypothesis in the following ways…

  • Overall Health including blood work, body fat / lean mass percentage, energy levels, and frequency of illness.

  • Overall Happiness including personal satisfaction, motivation, and marital happiness and satisfaction,

  • Work Performance including ability to focus, be creative, and ability to continuously improve.

  • Physical Performance including ability to add muscle naturally without tracking or counting, cardiovascular performance.

  • Addictive Performance including the ability to have full control of what and when I eat as well as any other potential addictions regarding food, internet, etc.

Principles Behind the RUSK Framework:

Avoid foods and activities that cause a negatively addicting dopamine response

Eat mainly higher fat bio-available, nutrient-dense foods and avoid poly-unsaturated cooking oils

Live a low insulin lifestyle

Focus on sleep quality over quantity
